In our experience at Concrete Uprising, we’ve learned that not everyone knows how to effectively maintain their concrete structures. It’s easy to assume that, because concrete is so strong and durable, it doesn’t need to be repaired, but if you want to keep your concrete in great condition in the long term, you will need to take proper care of it.
In this article, our team will focus on one example of concrete maintenance: walkway repair. Keep reading to learn a few ways to tell if you need our walkway repair services, and don’t hesitate to give us a call if you notice any of the following issues with your walkways:
- Pooling Water – Pay attention to how your walkways look when it rains. If your concrete walkways are in good condition, rainwater should slide off them instead of pooling into puddles. If there are any areas where water pools on the surface of your walkways, it means the concrete has become uneven and will need to be repaired.
- Ledges and Bumps – Another way to tell if your walkways have become uneven is to pay attention to how they feel under your feet, or to roll something with wheels over it to see where the wheels get stuck. If there are any ledges where two slabs of concrete don’t line up, or bumps where the surface buckles, we encourage you to give us a call.
- Cracks – A third sign you need walkway repair services is the presence of cracks in your concrete. Once cracks first appear in concrete, they will get worse over time unless you act quickly to get them repaired.
