At Concrete Uprising, we want to help you keep your concrete structures in the best possible condition, including your patio. Unfortunately, patios are often prone to problems such as settling, which in turn cause damage to the patio itself, and can even damage your foundations if steps are not taken to correct it. Patios typically settle towards your home, creating a ramp that channels water towards your foundation, which can compromise the soil that supports your whole house.
While we understand that this prospect is frightening, you don’t have to worry just yet, as our team is here to provide patio concrete leveling services that will fix the problem and prevent this worst-case scenario. In this article, we’ll go over three different techniques used for this purpose so that you have a better idea of what to expect.
- Patching- If only one section of your patio needs to be repaired, another option for patio concrete leveling is to insert a new patch. During this process, our team will cut away and remove the damaged section, place new sand underneath the area, pack it down firmly, and finally install new concrete over the top.
- Veneering- If patching on its own isn’t enough to get the concrete perfectly level, another method our team may use is veneering. First, we’ll rough up the surface of the concrete using chisels and other tools, then apply a thin mortar to that area and level it carefully. This process allows us to make sure the surface of the damaged area is exactly flush with the surrounding concrete.
- Slab Jacking- A third method used for patio concrete leveling is called slab jacking. In it, new concrete is pumped underneath the existing slab to raise it and make it level again, similar to the way that you use your car jack to lift up your vehicle.
