Waterproofing is a temporary fix– ask us about a long-lasting one!
If you are experiencing waterflow issues that are putting the foundation of your Burlington, North Carolina home or business property at risk, you may be looking for waterproofing solutions. There are many different methods out there that attempt to make a barrier between the water and the structure, with some being little more than a temporary fix. At Concrete Uprising, we believe it is more important to get to the cause for the water concern.
A common cause to look at is if settling of the garage, patio, or porch concrete slab is allowing rainwater to flow up against the structure instead of away from it. This is a common occurrence, since these slabs are often poured after the main structure’s concrete slab and are not compacted or supported nearly as much. Often during settling, a crack or gap appears against the structure and water easily flows to it and gets down under the foundation.
The traditional method for leveling concrete is to add more concrete, either on top or injected under it. However, this is as much a temporary fix as waterproofing is. The end result is that the added weight will cause even more settling eventually, and you’ll be back to square one. In fact, you’re worse off if you have to demolish the slab, as there is more material to be excavated and hauled away.
Our innovative approach raises the concrete back in place with a specialized poly-resin material, not concrete. This lighter material is strong enough to hold up the concrete when injected under it, without adding excessive weight. If you are looking for an alternative to waterproofing that will give you lasting results, give us a call to schedule an inspection.
